Key People

Sarah J. Campbell,
CFA
Senior Consultant
Sarah Campbell has over 12 years institutional
equity sales experience in the US and Canadian equity products.
Most recently
headed up the US institutional coverage out of Paris for Morgan
Stanley. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley to start up their Canadian
equity operations out of Montreal, Sarah was involved in institutional
equity sales at both Toronto Dominion Securities and Wood Gundy,
responsible for both Montreal based institutions and Japanese institutions
based in New York City.
Sarah is currently Vice-President of the CFA
France (Chartered Financial Analyst Association) and also a founding
member of this association which became a full chapter in 1999.
Sarah holds the CFA designation and has BA in
Japanese studies, McGill University, Montreal, Canada. Sarah is
currently enrolled in the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst
(CAIA) program.
Jonathan Lipscomb
Company Secretary
Jonathan Lipscomb is a Chartered Secretary and
specialises in the administration of companies. Jonathan’s
experience includes Human Resources, Facilities Management, Information
Technology and Governance.
Jonathan is a graduate of Law and has MSc
in Information Technology Management (with distinction).
Steve Martin
Senior Consultant
Steve Martin has over 15 years experience in
the investment management industry and has been a consultant with
a number of global asset management companies in the UK, USA and
Asia, specialising in risk, performance and research. Steve has
extensive experience in the development and implementation of systems,
and also managing business teams that use these systems.
Steve was Head of Portfolio Measurement at Merrill
Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM) for three years and was responsible
for the provision of all performance and risk information on MLIM
portfolios throughout the Group. He assisted in the formation of
the Merrill Lynch Multi- Manager Investment Team, where he was responsible
for the development and support of quantitative tools for analysing
third-party funds, portfolio construction, and the provision of
strategy advice to institutional and High Net Worth clients. More
recently he has worked closely with hedge funds, family offices
and institutional investors in the development of analytical capabilities.
Steve has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars.
Steve studied Mathematics at Imperial College,
London University.
Patrick N.Z. Rona
Partner
Patrick Rona has extensive experience in business
law and venture capital. For most of his legal career, he represented
investment managers and a venture fund in mergers and acquisitions,
private placements of securities, IPOs, licensing of technology,
re-organisations and dispute resolutions.
In 2002, Patrick was recruited away from his
law firm, Duane Morris LLP, where he was a Partner, to become President
and CEO of the U.S. subsidiary of a European portfolio company belonging
to a venture fund. There he managed a company with some $350m in
revenues, a 20 percent market share and a track record in product
development and innovation. Prior to joining Duane Morris, Patrick
was at GE Capital, Baker & McKenzie and the United States Bankruptcy
Court for the Southern District of New York.
Patrick currently serves as President and Director
of the 36th Street Owners’ Corporation, Trustee of the Highlands
School and Director of the Business Council of Alabama. Patrick
is also licensed to practice law in New York, Connecticut and the
District of Columbia.
Patrick received a BA in Economics from
Sarah Lawrence College, where he graduated with distinction, and
a JD from Vermont Law School where he received various awards and
served on the VLS Moot Court Advisory Board and the VLS Environmental
Moot Court Advisory Board.
Saeed Vaziri
CTO
Saeed Vaziri has extensive commercial experience
in software design and development in the Insurance, Risk Management
and Finance industries.
Saeed has previously worked at Barclays, Deutsche
Bank and Lloyds TSB, in the areas of investment management, investment
banking and custody, respectively. Saeed was Head of Quantitative
Research & Development at Barclays Wealth Solutions, with overall
responsibility for development and support of all internal applications
for the investment management teams. Prior to joining Barclays,
Saeed was at Deutsche Bank as an integral part of a team, responsible
for design and implementation of a suite of Global Investment Banking
applications used in London, New York, Sydney, Tokyo and Singapore.
At Lloyds TSB he led a team of analysts and programmers responsible
for converting over 1000 spreadsheets and legacy systems into a
data warehouse and futher integrating into eight major applications.
Additionally, Saeed has developed applications
for clients including KPMG, Royal & Sun Alliance, Sedgwick and
ASDA. Saeed’s specific areas of expertise covers data warehousing,
OLAP, databases, data feeds and a wide range of programming languages
including C/C++ and C#.
Saeed attended Queen Mary & Westfield
College, University of London, receiving BSc (Hons) in Computer
Science and MSc in Distributed and Parallel Systems (with distinction).
Reza Vishkai
Non-Executive Director
Reza Vishkai is Managing Director, Alternatives
with overall responsibility for the Alternatives business at Insight
Investment (HBOS). Before joining Insight Investment, Reza spent
eight years at Schroders where he set-up and led the Structured
Investments and Hedge Fund (single strategy and fund-of-funds) businesses.
Prior to Schroders, Reza was a consultant and
Managing Director with Rogers, Casey and Associates, one of the
largest US based consultants, where among other activities he had
responsibility for their multi-manager offerings. Reza started his
career at Salomon Brothers as a fixed income analyst.
Reza attended Columbia University receiving
degrees in Liberal Arts and Operations Research from Columbia College
and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, respectively.
Nader Zarrabian
Founder and CEO
Nader Zarrabian has extensive experience in the
investment management industry. Prior to founding Tao Analytics,
Nader was Director and Head of Performance Analysis & Risk at
Barclays Private Clients, Investment Services - the largest private
wealth manager in the UK - with overall responsibility for performance
and risk analysis, reporting and analytics input into the investment
process for all products. The investment process included the setting
and implementation of investment strategy at asset allocation level,
country and sector levels, stock selection and fund management,
for both discretionary and advisory businesses. Additionally, Nader
was responsible for other activities including IT and also served
as a member of the Management Committee, Asset Allocation Committee
and Gerrard Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Barclays, Nader was at Schroders
undertaking research and selection of underlying hedge fund managers
for Schroders' fund of hedge funds. Previously, at Schroders, Nader
was Vice President - Investment Analytics, with responsibilities
that included the implementation of investment analytics and systems
in the Group and integrating the analysis within the investment
process.
Nader’s previous experience includes public
sector management consultancy, currency research, equity investment
analysis and IT implementation.
Nader has BA (Hons) Business Studies, Master
of Business Administration (MBA) and MSc in Advanced Information
Technology (with distinction).
